Hon. Allan R. Lazor

Judge Allan R. Lazor is a former judge and lawyer with a distinguished Alternative Dispute Resolution resume. He received his J.D. from St. Mary’s University School of Law. He later served as judge of the Victoria County Court at Law No. 2, with concurrent jurisdiction in civil, probate, family, juvenile, criminal, eminent domain, and workers’ compensation matters. He also practiced in personal injury and workers’ compensation law, including participation in Jones Act injury cases on the defense side involving incidents along the intercoastal canal in Victoria County.

Judge Lazor is widely known as an arbitrator in financial and healthcare disputes. For over 25 years, he has been an arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. He was an arbitrator under the Texas Comptroller’s dispute program, a healthcare arbitrator for the American Health Lawyers Association, and a commodity futures arbitrator for the National Futures Association. In private arbitration, he has handled various business disputes.

Since the No Surprises Act was enacted, Judge Lazor has served as a federal No Surprises arbitrator under the federal Independent Dispute Resolution process. He has also served as an arbitrator with Judicial Workplace Arbitrations, Inc.
